On my flight back from Florida, I was delighted to see former Mariners pitcher / current Mariners commentator Ryan "Hyphen" Rowland-Smith and his family aboard. He was very kind, and had hopeful words for the second half.

Was great to see Geno back in Seattle. This was my first time sitting in the Hit-It-Here Cafe. I had always thought it seemed overpriced to buy your seat there, but when I found out that it comes with $18 of restaurant credit, the calculus flipped. I went solo, made some friends with the regulars. Would definitely sit there again.

Walking Dom to get to Cal is an insane decision, and it was good to see that choice punished appropriately. Good day for Mariners fans.

Next Up

I didn't go to the final game of the homestand, Seattle was in the middle of a pretty unpleasant heat wave, and I spent a lot of time that day avoiding the sun.

I was originally planning to go to LA for the Dodgers series, but my energy for more travel at the moment is very low. I think I'd benefit from some time at home to just exist and gather myself. I imagine that's going to lead to some non-baseball writing next, but we'll see. At the current moment, next travel seems like one of those Costco deals.
